Dee Myers (She/Her, He/Him) is one of the newest additions to LGBT Life Center’s team as a Data Entry Specialist. After interning with the Center from Old Dominion University, Dee officially joined the team to help ensure the quality of data collected for the prevention and housing programs. With a passion for community-focused work and a love for creativity, Dee is excited to continue making an impact while working alongside wonderful colleagues.

Name/Nickname: Deannah Myers/ Dee (is preferred)
Pronouns:
She/Her, He/Him
Job title:
Data Entry Specialist

Where’d you come from and what’d you do there? I was originally interning at the Life Center for Old Dominion University as part of my human services program, but now I’m here officially as an employee! 😊

I’m here to help you with…Ensuring the quality of data collected for our prevention and housing programs.

How did you become interested in working at the LGBT Life Center? I enjoyed helping everyone at the agency during my internship; I was also eager to learn more about how community-focused agencies like the LGBT Life Center worked. I’m grateful that my mentors here have taught me so much, and I look forward to using that information to better serve my community.

What’s an interesting thing about you that most people don’t know? If you’re ever interested in eating burgers in Outer Banks, NC, a painting I made is hanging at the back of the restaurant called Art’s Place. It’s a painting of the restaurant itself, and it’s the first painting I have ever sold to an establishment 😊

What excites you most about being at LGBT Life Center? I’m more than happy to be working with a lot of lovely people while doing meaningful work for the LGBTQ+ community.

Rapid Fire…what is your favorite…

Animal: Maned Wolf
Color: Vibrant colors like neon purple
Song/Music: Depends on my mood lol, but just to list a few…Cardigans, Hall &Oats, ENHYPEN, Maneskin
TV Show/Movie: Too Many to choose from! I watch too much stuff…Courage the Cowardly Dog/ Back to the Future
Hobby: Drawing, painting, and making crafts
