PrEP is medication that helps prevent HIV before there’s a chance of getting it. Think of it like protection you take ahead of time, similar to how birth control helps prevent pregnancy.

When taken as prescribed, PrEP is over 99% effective at blocking HIV. For a lot of people, it brings something really valuable: peace of mind. Some people take it because they’re dating, having sex, or seeing new people. Others just want an extra layer of protection and more control over their health. There’s no “right” reason to consider PrEP.

What is DoxyPEP

DoxyPEP is medication you take after sex to help lower the chance of getting certain bacterial STIs, including chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. In simple terms: it’s another tool to help protect your sexual health. DoxyPEP is taken within 72 hours after sex, and for some people, it can significantly reduce the risk of certain STIs (by as much as 2/3rds).
