Housing Helps Achieve Your Goals

Hudson Heinrich, Housing Specialist, LGBT Life Center

Name/Nickname: Hudson, no nicknames—at least none that stuck.

Pronouns: He/Him, She/Her, They/Them

Job Title at LGBT Life Center: Housing Specialist

Where’d you come from and what’d you do there?   I come from an apartment management and multifamily housing background. I have worked for a couple of different property management companies, working my way from Leasing Consultant to Assistant Property Manager during my time with them.

I’m here to help you with: Housing! I’m here to help you get a stable roof over your head so that we can help you achieve the other goals you have in life. I want to help secure a foundation for people that they can use to build the rest of their life on.

How did you become interested in this job/type of work? Since I have a background in property management, I was already in the field of housing when I began considering new opportunities in that same field. I have always held a passion for social awareness and activism; while housing is only one of the obstacles underserved communities can face in our society, it is a foundational one. If I have the skillset and knowledge to assist, that is what I would like to lend my time and energy towards.

What’s an interesting thing about you that most people don’t know? I consider myself a makeup artist and drag performer in my free time, although I haven’t exactly felt comfortable being on any stages over the past several months due to the pandemic. I look forward to a time when I feel safe enough to make my debut on stage—but until that happens, I hope to implement some other alternative ways of sharing my drag and my art with the world!

What excites you about joining the LGBT Life Center Team?  The passion and commitment to provide services to the LGBTQIA community while holding to its roots on HIV.
