With a background as an occupational therapist working with children with Autism and experience at the Boys and Girls Club of San Gorgonio Pass, they’ve always been dedicated to helping others. Where’d you come from and what’d you do there? I’m originally from Southern California and grew up in a small town in the high desert called Beaumont/Cherry Valley. My career has included working as an occupational therapist for kids with Autism and with the Boys and Girls Club of San Gorgonio Pass. Currently, I’m in Virginia, where I’ve been stationed while on active duty in the Navy. In the military, my role has been to collect, process, display, evaluate, and disseminate tactical combat information to command-and-control stations.
I’m here to help you with…As a medical case manager at the Life Center, my mission is to identify the needs of our patients and provide tailored interventions that enhance community relationships, increase access to essential resources, and reduce the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS. By focusing on improving the quality and accessibility of care, I aim to create supportive pathways for clients to thrive. In addition to my role, I’m committed to bringing positive energy to the Life Center, fostering a collaborative team environment, and ensuring that we work together to achieve our shared goals. Ultimately, I’m here to help others help others, making a meaningful difference in someone’s life and reminding us all that community matters. Together, we can make the world a better place for everyone.
How did you become interested in working at the LGBT Life Center? My interest in the Life Center stems from my commitment to empowering the LGBTQ+ community. As a member, I believe it’s my responsibility to uplift and support others within it. The Life Center’s mission of improving health and wellness, strengthening families and communities, and providing transformative education and advocacy perfectly aligns with my goals of making a positive and effective difference. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive community.
What’s an interesting thing about you that most people don’t know? Something interesting about me that many people don’t know is that I’ve never had a cavity, and I’ve managed to run a four-minute-thirty-second mile despite being only 64 inches tall!
What excites you most about being at the LGBT Life Center? One of the things that excites me most about being at the LGBT Life Center is the shared optimism and dedication everyone brings to making a lasting impact on the community. The center’s focus on prevention, education, and encouragement around sexual health is vital, helping individuals understand the importance of safety and responsibility. Additionally, the support provided to those living with HIV/AIDS and the broader LGBTQ+ community through resources and guidance empowers them to live healthier, fuller lives.
