Community Health Navigator

Where’d you come from and what’d you do there? Before stepping into my role as a Community Health Navigator at the LGBT Life Center, I built a foundation in secondary lending institutions as a Branch Manager Trainee II. Furthermore, I bring over 12 years of impactful volunteer experience with diverse nonprofits and have been deeply involved in leadership within LGBT-centered organizations.

I’m here to help you with…As a Community Health Navigator, I’m here to assist with accessing healthcare resources, navigating support services, and connecting you to the programs and information you need to improve your well-being.

How did you become interested in working at the LGBT Life Center? Before founding Thriving Transmen of Color and becoming part of the founding line of Alpha Omega Kappa when I was in the early stages of my transition and early 20’s. I found myself in need of support and resources for my transition. At that time, I was able to access vital information and assistance from what was then known as Access AIDS, now LGBT Life Center. That experience was a pivotal moment in my life, and being part of the staff today feels like a full-circle moment, allowing me to give back and support the community in meaningful ways.

What’s an interesting thing about you that most people don’t know? An interesting thing about me that most people don’t know is my love for sci-fi fantasy movies and shows. Many sci-fi narratives explore themes of inclusion and transformation, showcasing imaginative worlds and cultures that challenge norms. To me, it feels as though the genre deciphers messages from the universe, subtly advocating for inclusion and representation of the LGBTQIA+ community.

What excites you most about being at the LGBT Life Center? What excites me most about being at LGBT Life Center is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a community that has played such a significant role in my own journey. Being able to provide resources, support, and advocacy to those who need it most, while working alongside a dedicated team, fills me with purpose and pride. It’s especially fulfilling to be part of an organization that embodies inclusion, empowerment, and transformation for the LGBTQIA+ community.
