Nina Borgenson, Housing Specialist, LGBT Life Center

Nina Borgeson

Name:  Nina Borgeson

Pronouns: She/her

Job Title at LGBT Life Center: Housing Specialist

Where’d you come from and what’d you do there?   I am a recent graduate of Christopher Newport University! I graduated with a BA in English Composition and took part in a couple of student organizations. I was the Senior Editor at our school’s Her Campus chapter, which is an online magazine geared towards collegiate women. I was also a part of the school’s Planned Parenthood chapter. There, our main goals were to promote positive sexual & reproductive health and host educational events for the students and faculty/staff, as well as get condoms available at the campus health center.

I’m here to help you with:  Finding clients affordable, stable, and safe housing while on their journey to self-sufficiency.

How did you become interested in this job/type of work?  I always knew I wanted to work in a field that helped people in need. The fact that I’m now able to help a community so close to my heart means the world to me.

What’s an interesting thing about you that most people don’t know?  I am originally from Germany and speak the language pretty fluently.

What excites you about joining the LGBT Life Center Team?  The LGBT community has been a huge part of my life for so long and I love how open, accepting, and fun-loving our community is. It’s definitely reflected in this organization and I’m so excited to be working with a group of such amazing, caring, open-minded people who share the same goal of helping others in the community that are in need.
