John Hunting

Name: John

Job Title: Development and Volunteer Coordinator

Where’d you come from and what’d you do there? I came from Old Dominion University where I worked with the Office of Community Engagement as the Community Engagement Coordinator. I planned university event and worked with our community partnerships.

I’m here to help you with: I am here to help you with donor relations and volunteer opportunities.

How did you become interested in this job/type of work? I became interested in this job because I was looking for an opportunity in the non-profit world and I felt that it combined my passions for community development and event planning perfectly.

What’s an interesting thing about you that most people don’t know? I was my High School Mascot for three years, go Western Branch Bruins!

What excites you about joining the LGBT Life Center Team? The opportunity to work with people from all different backgrounds to create a stronger LGBT community in Hampton Roads.

 

Darius Pryor

Name and nickname: Darius Pryor, never really had a nickname, if anyone from the prevention team tells you its Danus they are lying to you lol.

Job Title: Community Health Navigator

Where’d you come from and what’d you do there? Relocated to VA after living in upstate NY for two years where I did case management, testing, and health education for a non-profit there.

I’m here to help you with: Connecting, informing, and empowering the community as it relates to sexual health and social change.

How did you become interested in this job/type of work? Prevention has been my passion since volunteering with Fenway Health while in school in Boston.

What’s an interesting thing about you that most people don’t know? I’ve started writing and working on stand-up comedy.

What excites you about joining the LGBT Life Center Team? I am really excited to work with such a diverse and dedicated organization!
