LGBT Life Center is proud to celebrate Christabelle “Cbelle” Fernandez, our Director of Development, on her selection for the LEAD757 Class of 2026.
Created by the Hampton Roads Chamber, LEAD757 brings together proven leaders from the region’s public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Through education, collaboration, and hands-on learning, participants explore issues affecting Hampton Roads, strengthen their civic leadership, and build relationships across the region’s communities.
The 2026 class is participating in a series of program days and retreats throughout the year, with sessions focused on regional priorities, innovative problem-solving, servant leadership, and opportunities to create positive change. Cbelle joins a network of more than 1,700 LEAD757 graduates who have contributed their experience and leadership to Hampton Roads.
A Virginia Beach native, Cbelle has deep roots in the region and nearly 20 years of nonprofit experience. Before joining LGBT Life Center, her career included service with the Peace Corps, Operation Smile, and the Virginia Zoo. Across each role, she has remained focused on building community, strengthening organizations, and creating opportunities for people to invest in causes they value.
At LGBT Life Center, Cbelle leads our fundraising and development efforts, builds relationships with community partners and supporters, and works to secure the resources that sustain our healthcare, housing, behavioral health, food access, HIV services, and LGBTQ+ community programs.
“I’m thrilled to be part of LEAD757 and learn alongside people who care deeply about Hampton Roads,” Cbelle said. “This region has always been home, and I’m excited to strengthen the relationships and skills that will allow me to serve it even better.”
Her selection reflects both the leadership she already brings to LGBT Life Center and her commitment to continuing to learn, collaborate, and invest in Hampton Roads.
