Our summer edition of Life Support is here, bringing together the voices, creativity, and experiences of volunteers from across our community.
For this issue, we combined July and August into one summer edition, giving our all-volunteer writing and design team a well-deserved month off. They returned with an issue filled with personal stories, original art, community resources, games, and plenty of personality.
Inside, you’ll meet Shay, a longtime newsletter contributor who shares why volunteering can be as simple as taking a chance, meeting new people, and finding your place in the community. Ari introduces xemself through a powerful reflection on identity, humanity, and the right we all have to take up space. You’ll also find original work from Jacob and Alex, a look back at Pride 2026, upcoming community events, health information, creative activities, and more.
This newsletter is written by volunteers, but it is made for everyone. It gives LGBTQ+ people in Hampton Roads space to tell their own stories, share what they care about, and create something that helps us feel a little more connected.
