May LIFE Support: Showing Up, Building Community, and Making It Happen

May 3, 2026 by Corey Mohr Leave a Comment

Our May edition of LIFE Support, LGBT Life Center’s volunteer newsletter, is here, and it’s a reflection of what happens when people show up for each other. This month’s issue highlights the everyday impact of volunteers, staff, and community members working together to support health, stability, and connection across Hampton Roads.

About May’s Issue

At LGBT Life Center, volunteers are at the core of what we do. Whether it’s supporting the Pride Pantry, showing up for events, or helping expand access to care, their time and energy directly shape the services we provide and the community we build.

This month’s issue offers a closer look at that impact, highlighting the ways people are stepping in, stepping up, and staying connected. From hands-on service to behind-the-scenes support, it’s a reminder that care doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens through people.

You’ll also find updates on programs and opportunities to get involved, along with stories that reflect what this work really looks like day-to-day. Not just services, but connection. Not just support, but community.

Because at the end of the day, this work is about showing up, for each other and for what comes next.
