With a background spanning military service, human development, and housing navigation, he joins our team with a deep commitment to supporting stability, dignity, and care for those we serve.

Name/Nickname: Aeron Novotny
Pronouns: He/Him
Job Title: Housing Stabilization Specialist

Where’d you come from and what’d you do there? I recently transitioned from the U.S. Navy, where I served as an Aviation Mechanic. Prior to my military service, I earned a degree in Human Development from UC San Diego. After graduating, I worked at Heartland Family Services in Omaha, Nebraska as a Homeless Housing Navigator, where I supported clients in securing and maintaining stable housing.

I’m here to help you with…In my role at LGBT Life Center, I support clients in maintaining housing by helping them adhere to program expectations and their lease agreements. I also collaborate closely with other case managers when we share clients to ensure coordinated and consistent care. I’m always happy to assist in other ways when needed.

How did you become interested in working at LGBT Life Center? I’ve always wanted to work directly with my community and give back in meaningful ways. The timing felt right, and this opportunity at LGBT Life Center aligned perfectly with both my values and professional experience.

What’s an interesting thing about you that most people don’t know? Over the past year, I’ve also been working on launching my own nonprofit focused on food sovereignty, and we recently became a 501(c)(3) organization.

What excites you most about being at LGBT Life Center? There are several things that excite me about being here. I feel an incredible sense of safety and belonging at work—there’s no bathroom politics, I get to be surrounded by members of my community, and I’m able to serve a mission I truly believe in.
