Dining Out For Life is more than just a night out—it’s an opportunity to give back, connect, and make a real impact in our community. Each year, incredible volunteers step up as Ambassadors to help spread awareness about the LGBT Life Center and our vital services.
This year, we’re spotlighting Ben, a dedicated Ambassador whose passion for community engagement has made a lasting impact. From his first experience in 2016 to looking forward to the event each year, Ben shares why being a Dining Out For Life Ambassador is so meaningful.

Q & A with Ben
Q: What got you interested in becoming a Dining Out For Life Ambassador?
A: I’ve always had a desire to get involved with the community. Years ago, someone mentioned it, and this was back in 2016, I think? I reached out and signed up, and when it was all over, I realized how fulfilling it was! I seriously look forward to this every year!
Q: What do you like about being an Ambassador?
A: Helping to spread the word about the Life Center, its services, and how it positively impacts our community. You’d probably be surprised how many people don’t know exactly what the Center does – oh, and the stories I hear from folks are amazing, too!
Q: Tell us something you’ve learned as an Ambassador?
A: Support comes from so many corners of existence. Some of the most incredible people I’ve spoken to are folks I would have never guessed… It’s just a really cool experience!

What’s an Ambassador do?
Becoming an Ambassador is an easy, fun, and impactful way to support the LGBTQ+ community while enjoying a night out! Here’s how you’ll make a difference:
✅ Join us for a quick & engaging training at the end of March or early April to get all the tools you need—plus, find out which amazing restaurant you’ll be representing!
✅ Help set the stage for success! Drop off posters and table tents at your assigned restaurant to spread the word and build excitement.
✅ Bring the energy! Invite your friends, coworkers, and network to dine at your restaurant on Thursday, April 24—because great food is even better with great company!
✅ Be the face of the mission! Chat with guests, share why Dining Out For Life matters, and let them know about the exciting raffle drawing to support LGBT Life Center.
✅ Celebrate the impact! Wrap up the night by turning in raffle envelopes and heading to the volunteer afterparty—because every effort deserves a toast! 🎉
Don’t worry—we’ll fully train and prepare you! You just bring your passion, and we’ll handle the rest.
