Meet Jazz, the Field Interviewer Bringing Research and Connection to Life

LGBT Life Center is excited to welcome Jasmine “Jazz” to the team as a Field Interviewer. In this role, Jazz supports the NHBS team by conducting in-person interviews and collecting data for the CDC and Virginia Department of Health, helping strengthen public health research and community-centered care.

Pronouns: She/Her
Job title: Field Interviewer

Where’d you come from and what’d you do there? I graduated last year with a B.S. degree in Clinical Psychology. In addition to my position at the Life Center, I am also a Research Assistant at Boston University, working on a Women’s PREP Study. Additionally, I currently teach special education in the Virginia Beach public school system.

I’m here to help you with…  As a field interviewer, I am here to help the NHBS team conduct in person interviews and collect data for the CDC and VDH.

How did you become interested in working at LGBT Life Center? My sister works at the Life Center, so it was through her positive experience that I became interested in working at the Center!

What’s an interesting thing about you that most people don’t know? I can play the acoustic guitar. I used to travel to different churches/venues and play/sing for different events.

What excites you most about being at LGBT Life Center? Connecting with individuals, building meaningful relationships, and helping empower the LGBT+ community in any way I can.
