Name/Nickname: Michelle Reed (Che)
Job title: Director of Community Engagement
Where’d you come from, and what’d you do there? I was at the EVMS Strelitz Diabetes Center for about 8 months before returning to The Center. I’ve been with The Center since 2006, so for about 17 years.
I’m here to help you with… Currently, my role is to build and cultivate relationships with various communities and members and to help maximize LGBT Life Center’s visibility to ensure that people know who we are and where to come for assistance and services. I’ve worked in various roles within the agency so I can also assist and direct community and clients to services such as PrEP, testing, and additional resources needed.
How did you become interested in working at the LGBT Life Center? In 2006, an opportunity presented itself to work as a Housing Specialist at Full Circle/CANDII (presently known as LGBT Life Center), and here I am. 😊
What’s an interesting thing about you that most people don’t know? I am an extroverted introvert.
What excites you most about being at the LGBT Life Center? I enjoy the people that I meet. Their stories are inspiring, motivating, and hopeful. Not always… but those stories are just as important and meaningful and are too filled with hope and the want for growth.
